An introduction to the Christian faith
What Christians believe
If you’re a new enquirer into the Christian faith, we’d love to help you understand what Christians believe.
Christians believe what the Bible teaches to be true. But the Bible is a big book! One of the tried-and-tested ways people have been introduced to the Christian faith is by being taught the Apostles’ Creed. The Apostles’ Creed is a summary statement of Christian belief with each line summarising a particular teaching of the Bible. We love to walk through the Creed with new enquirers using a short book titled Affirming the Apostles’ Creed, and we would happily give you a free copy and arrange to meet up.
How Christians live
What we believe affects how we live.
This is why new enquirers into the Christian faith have, throughout the world, been taught not only the Apostles’ Creed but also The Ten Commandments and The Lord’s Prayer. The Ten Commandments give us a summary of how Christians are to live in relation to God and others. Jesus taught his followers what we now refer to as The Lord’s Prayer in order that we might know how to pray and what to prioritise in prayer.
At Trinity, we love to think through how these short but significant texts ought to affect our lives here and now. Again, we happily make available two books titled Keeping the Ten Commandments and Praying the Lord’s Prayer for all new enquirers. Get in touch if you’d like to know more.
